Jay Shah’s big decision:Team India will not go to Pakistan, withdraw from Champions Trophy 2025!

Big news is coming out regarding Champions Trophy 2025. There is no possibility of the Indian team going to Pakistan to play this tournament. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will ask the International Cricket Council (ICC) to hold India’s matches elsewhere. For this he has chosen two venues. The organiser will be asked to hold a match at one of these places.

BCCI wants that like Asia Cup 2023, Champions Trophy 2025 should also be organized in hybrid model. News agency ANI, quoting BCCI sources, has informed that the Indian cricket team is unlikely to go to Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. BCCI will ask ICC to organize the match in Dubai or Sri Lanka.

India-Pakistan clash only in Multi Nation Trophy

The ICC Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan from February next year to March 2025. India has not played any cricket tournament in Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup due to strained relations between the two countries. The bilateral series in India from December 2012 to January 2013 was the last bilateral series between the two countries. Since then, the two countries have met only in ICC tournaments and the Asia Cup.

Uncertainty over India’s participation

There is uncertainty looming over India’s participation in the upcoming event due to relations between the two countries. The Pakistan Cricket Board had proposed to India to play all its matches in one city. It has already been reported that PCB has given the schedule of the tournament to ICC. He wants to hold all India’s matches in Lahore. Apart from BCCI, it had got the green signal from all the countries.

Need permission from Government of India

BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla had said in May that the Indian team would be sent to Pakistan for the tournament only if the central government allows it. Speaking to ANI, Shukla said, “In the case of the Champions Trophy, we will do whatever the Government of India asks us to do. We send our team only when the Government of India allows us. Therefore, we will go according to the decision of the Government of India.”
