A three-match Test series will be played between India and New Zealand from October 16, the first match of which will be played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. New Zealand Cricket has announced its team for this Test series. After the Kiwi team’s shameful performance on the Sri Lanka tour, Tim Southee announced to leave the captaincy of the Test team, after which Tom Latham will be seen taking over the captaincy of the New Zealand team in this Test series against India. Apart from this, Mark Chapman has been included in the team, who has become a part of the Test team squad for the first time.
Ish Sodhi will join the team from the second Test.
In the team announced by New Zealand for the three-match Test series against India, Michael Bracewell will be available for selection only in the first match, after which he will return to the country for the birth of his second child. Leg spinner Ish Sodhi will be a part of the team for the second and third Test matches. Kane Williamson has not yet recovered from his groin injury, due to which there is suspense over his playing in the first Test match. The Kiwi team will leave their country on October 11 to participate in the Test series against India. The last time the New Zealand team came to India, left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel performed brilliantly and he is also a part of the team this time.
