For the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024, Chennai Super Kings is already in full blast. According to ABP news( Ananda Bazar Patrika), the five-time champion franchise has taken two big steps towards enriching and refreshing its brand for this season. One of them is changing the logo of the jersey and the other is signing Katrina Kaif as brand ambassador.
Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif became a brand ambassador of Etihad Airways in 2010. “Captain Cool” MS Dhoni led team Chennai Super Kings made a sponsorship deal with Etihad Airways and with that Katrina came on board to be a brand ambassador for the team. The globally famous Airways brand has its name on the back of the brand-new jersey. The official Instagram ID of CSk has posted the first look of the jersey with the brand name on their New Jersey launch event. Together the popularity of Katrina with the global reach of Etihad is going to enrich CSK.
After recovering from his knee injury our 42-year-old Captain Ms. Dhoni probably will play the last season of the tournament. This year his team has selected some more warriors to make sure the winning legacy could go on. From the mini-auction held in December, they chose their new members Daryl Mitchell(33-year-old New Zealander all-rounder), Rachin Ravindra(24-year-old New Zealander cricketer), and Mustafizur Rahman (28-year-old Bangladeshi left-arm fast-medium bowler) from the overseas. They picked Shardul Thakur, Avanish Rao Aravelly, and Sameer Rizvi in their Indian contingent.
The partnership will help in expanding the franchise globally.
Players who are still in the team are- MS Dhoni, Rabindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Ajay Mandal, Ajinkya Rahane, Devon Conway, Maheesh Theekshana, shaik Rasheed, Matheesha Pathirana, Simarjeet Singh, Mitchell Santner, Moeen Ali, Mukesh Choudhary, Nishant Sindhu, Prashant Solanki, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, Tushar Deshpande.
This year’s IPL schedule has not been yet disclosed by the BCCI but the expected timeline is between March 23, 2024, to May 29, 2025.
