The 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) is now moving towards its final stage. Every day surprising news is coming out from the field. In this sequence, the latest case is coming from the Kolkata Knight Riders camp, where the Board of Control for Cricket in India has taken strict action against the team’s young fast bowler Harshit Rana.
The board found Harshit guilty of violating the code of conduct during the match played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals (KKR vs DC) and he has been banned along with a fine of 100 percent of the match fee.
Harshit Rana bowled brilliantly in the match played between Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals on Tuesday. But during this time he did such an act, due to which he has been fined 100 percent of the match fee and banned for one match.
Actually, during the match against Delhi Capitals, after taking the wicket of Abhishek Porel, Harshit was seen giving him a flying kiss. The match referee found it against the IPL code of conduct and took strict action against the bowler. It is worth noting that this was Harshit Rana’s second mistake this season.
Harshit Rana also celebrated by giving a flying kiss to Mayank Agarwal after taking his wicket during the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23. After this, the match referee fined him 60 percent of the match fee. However, now that Harshit has repeated his mistake, his punishment has also been increased.
Harshit Rana showed a brilliant performance against Delhi Capitals and contributed significantly to his team’s victory. He took 2 wickets while spending only 28 runs in 4 overs.
IPL 2024 is going very well for 23-year-old Harshit Rana. He has taken 11 wickets in 8 matches played so far at an average of 24.91. Seeing Harshit’s brilliant performance, some cricket pundits raised the demand to include him in Team India for the T20 World Cup 2024. But this did not happen.
If we look at the overall IPL career of the right-arm fast bowler, KKR added him to their team in the year 2022 in place of the injured Rashikh Salam at a base price of Rs 20 lakh. Harshit has taken 17 wickets in 16 matches played so far in the IPL at an average of 27.76.
