India has suffered a big setback before the third Test against England. The team’s batsman KL Rahul has been ruled out of the third test. BCCI had included him in the squad for the last 3 matches but had also made it clear that his playing would depend on the fitness report.
KL Rahul is working hard to regain his fitness at NCA, he was injured in the first Test played in Hyderabad due to which he was ruled out of the second Test. BCCI announced the squad for the last 3 matches against England, in which KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja returned. But BCCI had made it clear in its statement that the playing of Rahul and Jadeja will depend on their fitness report.
According to the report of Indian Express, KL Rahul is not fit for the third Test to be played in Rajkot. The BCCI medical team has told the selectors that they need one more week to decide on Rahul’s playing, they are keeping an eye on his recovery.
IND vs ENG 3rd Test: Who is KL Rahul’s replacement?
It has been told in the report that BCCI has included Karnataka batsman Devdutt Padikkal for the third test in place of KL Rahul. Ajit Agarkar had recently reached the stadium to watch the Ranji match, where Devdutt had played an inning of 151 runs. Left-handed batsman Devdutt Padikkal is also in good form.
IND vs ENG: Ravindra Jadeja is fit for the third test
The BCCI medical team has declared Ravindra Jadeja fit for the third test. Ravindra Jadeja has also started practicing with Team India in Rajkot. Jadeja was also out of the second Test with an injury and was undergoing a rehab process at the NCA.
India vs England third test will be played in Rajkot from 15th February. The Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium will be named after Niranjan Shah before this match.
