According to a report in the ‘Times of India’, like last time, this time too Mallika Sagar will be the auctioneer in the IPL auction. Mallika also has a special record of her name. She is the first female auctioneer in IPL history. She participated in the IPL auction for the first time in 2024. Now she will be seen in it for the second time. Her experience is nearly two decades.
Before Mallika, only men have been seen in the role of auction in IPL. Before her, Richard Medley, Hugh Edmeads, and Charu Sharma have been seen in this role. But now Mallika has been selected again. She has played the role of auctioneer in the IPL and Women’s Premier League as well as the Pro Kabaddi League.
Like last time, this time also the IPL auction will be held outside India. This time Saudi Arabia has been chosen. The auction will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 24 and 25 November. Preparations for this are almost complete.
1574 players have registered for the IPL mega auction. There are 320 capped and 1224 uncapped players in it. Along with this, 30 players are from Associate Nations. This time 204 slots are available for players in the auction. The teams have released the retention list. If we talk about purses, all the teams have to spend Rs 641.5 crore on 204 players. Rs 558.5 crore has already been spent on retention.
