Two former champion teams will face each other in match number 51 of the 17th session of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). Five-time champion Mumbai Indians will face two-time champion Kolkata Knight Riders at Wankhede Stadium on 3rd May.
Hardik Pandya’s team MI is almost out of the current season and if it wins its remaining matches then it will not be able to qualify for the playoffs. But the performance of KKR led by Shreyas Iyer has been excellent. The opening pair of Sunil Narine and Phil Salt have performed brilliantly for KKR this season. Both of them have scored runs at the rate of about 12 runs per over this season and have been the third fastest run-scoring pair. KKR is currently in second place in the points table with 12 points.

Wankhede Stadium is a heaven for batsmen. The small boundary and fast outfield here will present a lot of challenges for the bowlers. However, this track helps the bowlers in the first innings. Apart from this, dew also plays its role here. Therefore the toss becomes important here because any target can be easily chased on this ground.
