The moment has finally arrived for the return of the player of Team India who has been most awaited since last year. Indian cricket team star fast bowler Mohammed Shami was successful in returning to the cricket field after 360 days. Shami returned for Bengal against Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy Group C match.
Since the Shami was away from Shami was away from the field due to an injury eld due to the World Cup 2023 last year, Shami had an ankle injury for which he had to undergo surgery. Since then, he has been undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy i.e. NCA in Bengaluru. A few days ago he informed me about his fitness, but then he was not selected in the Indian team for the Australia tour. Now Shami made a comeback to competitive cricket through the Ranji Trophy but could not do anything special.
Shami was disappointed on the first day
Mohammed Shami bowled 10 overs on the first day of the match against Madhya Pradesh but could not take a single wicket. The result was that Madhya Pradesh strengthened its position after the first day’s play. After bundling out Bengal’s innings for 228 runs, Madhya Pradesh scored 103 runs for the loss of one wicket by the end of the day’s play. Bengal needs to win this match to stay in the race for the quarter-finals.
Shami conceded three fours and conceded 16 runs in his opening spell of four overs. His second spell of 6 overs was more impressive. In this, he conceded 18 runs with one maiden. BCCI and people associated with the Indian team will keep an eye on Shami’s fitness. With a strong performance in domestic matches, he can return to the team for the matches after the Border-Gavaskar Test series.
Better performance is expected on the second day
Shami was seen playing with his younger brother Mohammad Kaif in a Ranji match for the first time. Kaif took the only wicket to fall in Madhya Pradesh’s innings. He dismissed opener Himanshu Mantri for 13 runs. Madhya Pradesh’s other opener Shubhranshu Senapati is present at the crease after scoring 44 runs in 103 balls and Indian batsman Rajat Patidar is present at the crease after scoring 41 runs in 55 balls.
