On Tuesday, Alipore Court granted bail to cricketer Mohammed Shami on a bail bond of Rs 2,000. Shami appeared physically in the Alipore ACJM court of Kolkata on Tuesday and obtained bail. A case was registered against Mohammed Shami and some of his family members on the basis of an FIR lodged by Hasin Jahan at Jadavpur police station in 2018. After which legal proceedings were initiated against Shami.
Earlier, the lawyer had asked Shami to appear in court and seek bail. In 2018, Shami was accused of domestic violence by his ex-wife Hasin Jahan and she filed a case in the lower court.
Mohammed Shami appeared in court for the first time in the bride harassment case. Ahead of the World Cup 2023 to be played from October 5, the Indian cricketer appeared in the court on Tuesday, September 19, and applied for bail. The judge accepted the plea and granted bail.
On August 23, the Alipore Additional Sessions Judge ruled that the court did not find any compelling reason to summon Shami in view of Hasin’s complaint. Therefore, at present there is no need for him to appear in court. However, within the next 30 days, the Indian cricketer will have to apply to the trial court for further proceedings in the case.
During this period he can apply for bail. The trial court will decide on Shamir’s bail as per law. After this order, Shami appeared in court and got bail.
