Afghanistan’s controversial cricketer Naveen-ul-Haq announced his retirement from ODI cricket. Naveen has informed fans via social media that he will retire from ODI cricket after the 2023 World Cup. Naveen surprised everyone by deciding to retire at the age of 24. He wrote in one of his Instagram posts that he is retiring from ODIs. But will continue to play for Afghanistan in T20 internationals. Naveen came into the limelight during the IPL 2023 clash with Virat Kohli.
Naveen shared a post on Instagram on Wednesday evening. In this, he talked about retirement from ODI. Naveen wrote, “It is an honor for me to represent my country. I will retire from the ODI format after this World Cup. But I will continue to play T20 cricket for the country. This decision is not easy for me to make. But I had to make this decision to prolong my career. I would like to thank the Afghanistan Cricket Board and thank all my fans for their support and love.”
