Team India is just one step away from becoming ODI World Cup champion for the third time. On Sunday (November 19), when Rohit Sharma’s team will face Australia in the ICC World Cup 2023 final in Ahmedabad, its eyes will be on avenging the defeat suffered in the World Cup final 20 years ago. In the 2003 World Cup final, India lost to Australia by 125 runs.
So far 13 matches have been played between India and Australia in the ODI World Cup, out of which Australia has won 8 and India has won 5 matches. In this World Cup encounter, India defeated Australia by 6 wickets.
There is no possibility of any change in the Indian team in the World Cup final against Australia, which has been performing well and remains unbeaten by winning 10 consecutive matches in this World Cup.
Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are in great form in the top order and have been giving a strong start to Team India with their stormy batting. After this, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer have made a name for themselves in the middle order. Also, KL Rahul’s stormy batting has been helping India score big scores.
Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have proved lethal with the new balls and both of them have got full support from Mohammed Siraj and all three have made life difficult for the opposition batsmen. After the fast bowlers, no team has been able to find an answer to the spinning balls of Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja.
Suryakumar Yadav is the only player in the playing eleven who has not been able to play big innings, but he has also had fewer opportunities to spend time at the crease.
There is also a possibility that considering the slow pitch of Ahmedabad, the team may also give a chance to India Ravichandran Ashwin as the third spinner, but for this Siraj may have to sit out. Ashwin has played only one match in this World Cup. However, considering how Team India has performed strongly and won the last few matches, there is little possibility of any change in the playing eleven.
India’s Playing XI
Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah.
