Babar Azam started his World Cup campaign today. The opponent was the Netherlands (PAK vs NED). The Pakistan team is currently ranked second in the ICC One Day Cricket Rankings. The current position of the Dutch is 14. Even though they are many years behind in the book, the Netherlands cricketers did not realize the difference in quality in the fight on the field. In 2011, they got the opportunity to play the last World Cup (ICC World Cup 2023) on Indian soil. Sometimes in 2015 and 2019, he could not qualify. Scott Edwards’ team made their World Cup comeback after twelve years memorable with an impeccable bowling performance.
The Netherlands won the toss and chose to bowl first. It did not take long to prove that the Dutch had entered the field to measure Pakistan’s strengths and weaknesses. First Fakhar Zaman, then Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq, the top-order batsmen didn’t even have to spend ten overs to send the Netherlands to the pavilion. Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel brought the Pakistan team out of danger after losing 3 wickets out of 38 runs.
After Iftikhar Ahmed failed, Shadab Khan and Mohammad Nawaz stood up. In the death over, Bas de Leede’s bowling hit the Pak camp once again. In the end, they could not advance more than 286 runs in fifty overs.
Batting first against the Netherlands, the Pakistan team was bowled out for 286 runs in 49 overs. And to make this run Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel scored 68 runs.
