Cricket World Cup 2023 has started. Pakistan vs South Africa (PAK vs SA) in World Cup Grand Match. The 26th match was played at the MA Stadium in Chennai. Pakistan is on the back foot in this World Cup, losing against India, Australia, and Afghanistan in the last match, the team went out of the tournament. Pakistani captain Babar Azam decided to bat after winning the toss in today’s match.
Coming to bat first, the Pakistani team was under pressure, Abdullah Safiq returned to the pavilion for 9 runs and Imam ul Haque returned to the pavilion for 12 runs. Captain Babar scored another fifty for the team, he scored 50 runs off 65 balls. In addition, Saud Shakeel scored the maximum 52 runs for the team, Shadab Khan scored 43 runs from 36 balls at the end and the team reached the threshold of 270 runs. On the other hand, Tabriaz Samsi took 4 wickets for the South African team. Marco Jensen took 3 wickets and Gerald Coetzee took 2 wickets.
In the second innings, South Africa’s batting opener Quinton de Kock gave a good performance for the team. However, while playing a pull shot off Shaheen Afridi, he was caught by the fielder in the deep wicket. Bavuma returned to the pavilion after making 28 runs. Rashi van der Dusen returned to the pavilion after scoring 21 runs. However, Aiden Markram scored the maximum 91 runs for the team. Besides, David Miller made 29 runs from 33 balls and returned to the pavilion in the middle field. Finally, Keshav Maharaj secured the victory for the team by scoring 7 runs from 21 balls. Shaheen Afridi took 3 wickets for Pakistan, and Harris Rauf, Usama Mir, and Mohammad Wasim Jr took 2 wickets each.
