The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced its central contract for the 2024-25 international season. 25 players have been given a chance in this. The special thing is that Pakistan’s dashing batsman Fakhar Zaman has been shown the way out in the central contract. He has also not been included in the Pakistani team for the tour of Australia and Zimbabwe. Fakhar is known for his excellent batting and has won many matches for the Pakistani team on his own in the past. Once he is set at the crease, it becomes difficult to get him out.
Posted like this for Babar on social media
PCB had dropped star players like Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Naseem in the second and third Test matches of the series against England. After this, Fakhar Zaman posted on the social media platform X and wrote that excluding Babar Azam is worrying. India did not bench Virat Kohli during his bad phase between 2020 and 2023 when he scored an average of 19.33, 28.21, and 26.50 respectively. If we are considering sidelining our key batsman, who is the best batsman Pakistan has ever produced, it can send a negative message to the team.
Last year he was included in the B category
After Fakhar Zaman did this, the PCB issued a notice to him and the PCB has given Fakhar seven days to clarify his position. Earlier, he had told PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi about the treatment meted out to him by the PCB director. Last year, Fakhar was placed in the B category by the PCB, and this time he has been excluded from the central contract.
11 centuries in ODI cricket
Fakhar Zaman has played cricket in all three formats for the Pakistani team and he made his ODI debut for Pakistan in 2017. After this, he scored a century against India in the final of the Champions Trophy 2017. So far, he has scored 192 runs in three Tests, and 3492 runs in 82 ODIs. After this, he has 1848 runs in his name in 92 T20 International matches. He has scored a total of 11 centuries in international cricket, all of which have come in ODIs.
