BCCI on Wednesday announced the contract extension for Indian cricket team head coach Rahul Dravid and Team India’s support staff. His contract expired after the recently concluded ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023. After this, the BCCI discussed with Dravid and agreed to extend the tenure.
BCCI said in a statement, “The Board appreciates the important role played by Mr. Dravid in preparing the Indian team. The Board also appreciates VVS Laxman for his exemplary roles as NCA chief and stand-in head coach. Just as they shared partnerships on the field, Dravid and Laxman have worked together to take Indian cricket forward.”
Expressing happiness over the contract extension as head coach, Rahul Dravid said, “The last two years with Team India have been completely memorable. Together, we have seen ups and downs, and throughout this journey, the support and camaraderie within the team has been phenomenal. I’m proud of the atmosphere and culture we’ve created in the dressing room.”
It is a culture that remains resilient, whether there are winning moments or when the situation is not in our favor. The skill and talent that our team has is phenomenal, and what we have emphasized is to follow the right process and stick to our preparations, which has directly given us results.
