This year in IPL the wait is now for 18th May. A high-profile match is to be played between RCB and CSK on this day. So far, three teams have entered the IPL playoffs and only one spot is left. The decision for this will be taken on 18th May i.e. Saturday. Meanwhile, it is believed that whichever team wins this match will go straight to the playoffs, but this will not happen. It is also possible that RCB may not reach the top 4 even after winning.
CSK’s condition in points table
Let’s talk about CSK first. The team has played 13 matches so far, winning 7 of them and losing 6. The team is currently at number 4 with 14 points. Meanwhile, if we talk about the net run rate, his net run rate is 0.528, which can prove to be a boon for them.
RCB’s condition in the points table
Now let’s talk about RCB. RCB team has played 13 matches so far and out of these it has won 6 matches and has faced defeat in 7. The team is currently at number six in the points table. The net run rate of the team is currently 0.387. Which can create difficulties for them.
These equations are being formed for RCB
Now let us tell you the equations of the playoffs. If the RCB team bats first in the next match then it will have to defeat CSK by at least 18 runs. Whereas if Bengaluru bats later, then whatever target they face, they will have to win in 18.1 overs. If RCB does this work successfully then the net run rate of RCB will be more than that of CSK. Although the points will remain the same, the team will move ahead based on NRR. But if RCB wins by less than 18 runs or is successful in registering victory after 18.1 overs, then even after the win, RCB will get nothing, and even after the defeat, the CSK team will not be able to secure its place in the playoffs.
