Rohit Sharma’s Move from MI to RCB Would Set an IPL Record, Says De Villiers Ahead of Mega Auction !!

Former South African cricketer and Mr. 360, AB de Villiers believes that if Rohit Sharma decides to join Royal Challengers Bangalore in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, it could prove to be the biggest move in the history of the tournament. Reacting to the rumors of Rohit leaving Mumbai Indians, de Villiers said on his YouTube channel that the move would make headlines everywhere. Let us tell you, ever since MI traded Hardik Pandya from Gujarat Titans, nothing has been going well in the team.

After Hardik Pandya’s return to Mumbai Indians, the team was divided into two factions, the effect of which was seen on the performance. Now a mega auction is to be held before IPL 2025, and there is speculation that Rohit may leave Mumbai before the next season.

During a live Q&A session on his YouTube channel, de Villiers gave his reaction to Rohit Sharma’s possible move. De Villiers said that given his loyalty to the Mumbai-based franchise, he does not see Rohit moving from MI to RCB.

“I almost laughed at Rohit’s comment. If Rohit moves from Mumbai Indians to RCB, it will be huge news. Wow! Imagine the headlines. It will be even bigger than Hardik Pandya’s move. He moved back to Mumbai from Gujarat Titans, which wasn’t a huge surprise though,” de Villiers said during a live Q&A session on YouTube.

He further added, “But if Rohit moves from Mumbai to join their rivals in RCB… oh my god! I don’t think there is any option there. I don’t think Mumbai Indians will let Rohit go. I would give it zero or 0.1 percent probability.”
