The BCCI on Thursday announced the India squad for the limited overs series against Sri Lanka. Star batsman Suryakumar Yadav has been given the command of the Indian T20. Surya has beaten all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the captaincy race. Surya is likely to take over the reins till the T20 World Cup 2026. This is considered a big change after Gautam Gambhir became the head coach.
‘Hitman’ Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will play in the ODI series. Let us tell you that after winning the T20 World Cup 2024, ‘Hitman’ Rohit and Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja retired from T20 International cricket. Jadeja has also been given rest in the series. Shreyas Iyer has returned to the Indian team. He played his last international match in February 2024. India has to play a three-match T20 series in Pallekele from July 27. Three ODIs will be played in Colombo from August 2.
