In the eliminator of IPL 2024, Rajasthan Royals have defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by four wickets and have once again shattered their dream of becoming champions. In this way, Bengaluru’s journey of winning six consecutive matches also ended. Batting first after losing the toss, Bengaluru scored 172 runs losing eight wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Rajasthan achieved the target by losing six wickets in 19 overs. Bengaluru team has so far never been able to become champion in 17 seasons of IPL.
How was Rajasthan’s performance today?
Yashasvi (30 balls, eight fours) and Tom Kohler Cadmore (20) scored 46 runs for the first wicket. Lockie Ferguson broke this partnership by bowling Cadmore. Jaiswal and captain Sanju Samson (17 runs) were looking in good form. But Cameron Green ended Jaiswal’s innings in the 10th over. In the very next over, Samson also returned to the pavilion after becoming the victim of Karn Sharma. Dhruv Jurel was run out after scoring eight runs. Hetmyer and Parag hit a six each in the 16th over, resulting in 17 runs in this over. Hetmyer hit three fours and one six in 14 balls in his innings.
In this way Rajasthan team reached Qualifier-2. Now on May 24, they will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in another knockout match. The team that wins that match will play Kolkata Knight Riders in the final on May 26. The way Bengaluru players hugged Dinesh Karthik, it is believed that this was also Karthik’s last match in the IPL. Karthik had earlier said after defeating CSK that he thought the match against CSK would be the last of his IPL career. In such a situation, Karthik’s career is considered to be over.
