Shubman Gill has been in great form for the past one year. He has performed exceptionally well in all three formats, ODI, Test, and T20. Shubman Gill performed so well in the ODI format that the Indian team management had to ignore even a star player like Shikhar Dhawan. Gill brought his best form in this World Cup as well. However, Babar Azam sat at the top of the ICC ODI rankings. Babar Azam’s bat didn’t work in the World Cup match and Shubman Gill played some good innings which was reflected in the ICC ODI rankings.
Shubmal Gill now has 830 points in the ODI rankings. Babar Azam is in second place with 824 points. South African wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock is third in this list with 771 points. Apart from these three, Virat Kohli also made a big jump in the ICC ODI rankings by scoring 500 runs in this World Cup. Virat Kohli has now come fourth behind Rohit Sharma and David Warner.
Virat has 770 points in the ICC ODI rankings. This means that Virat is not too far behind de Kock and if he plays some good innings, Virat too can move up to number three in the ICC ODI rankings. After Virat, Australian opener David Warner is at number 5 with 743 points. Just behind David Warner is the Team India captain Rohit Sharma who has 739 points at number six.
