A day after trading Hardik Pandya to Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Titans have appointed Shubman Gill as the captain. Hardik captained Gujarat in 2022 and 2023 and the 2024 season will see Shubman captaining the IPL for the first time.

Shubhman is in the top five in terms of scoring most runs in the last six years, ahead of him are KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, and Faf du Plessis. Shubman will captain a strong team that has experienced players like Kane Williamson, Rashid, David Miller, Matthew Wade, and Wriddhiman Saha. He has captaincy experience in domestic cricket, having captained in the Duleep Trophy and Deodhar Trophy.
