Shubman Gill to Miss Opening Match, Ishan Kishan to Open Innings with Rohit Sharma

The Indian cricket team suffered a big setback before its first match in the World Cup 2023. The team’s star batsman Shubman Gill is out of the match against Australia (IND vs AUS) due to suffering from dengue. Now speculations are being made that Ishan Kishan will get a chance to open with Rohit Sharma in the match against Australia.

Gill has won matches for India in ODIs on many occasions by batting brilliantly. These days this batsman is also in excellent form. In such a situation, Team India will miss its star batsman in its opening match of the World Cup.

If Gill does not play against Australia, then Ishan Kishan can be sent to open with Rohit Sharma. Ishan has also played many big innings while opening for India. In such a situation, everyone would hope that if Kishan gets this responsibility, he will live up to it.

Gill is the highest run-scorer in ODIs this year with 1230 runs at an average of 72.35 and a strike rate of 105.03. In his last four ODIs, he scored two centuries and one half-century, two of which came in the recent ODI series against Australia.
