Siraj’s Sensational Spell: 4 Wickets in a Single Over Shatters Sri Lankan Dreams in Asia Cup Final

India-Sri Lanka in the final of the Asia Cup. Both teams played very high-quality cricket throughout the tournament. Even when the two camps faced each other last time in the Super Four phase, it was still very tight cricket. At one time, Team India looked quite disoriented due to the spin of the Lankan army.

Sri Lanka also fought till the end under pressure to chase runs. In the end, Kuldeep Yadav’s magic ensured India’s win that day. Everyone was hoping to see a repeat of that struggle in the title fight. But one Muhammad Siraj turned all the calculations upside down. He probably wrote the fate of the match in the same over.

Not Good Starts By Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss and chose to bat today. The start of the game was slightly delayed due to the weather. After that, two teams entered the field through the clouds. Although the sky in Colombo is now clear, there is currently a thick layer of dark clouds in Sri Lanka. The way Mohammad Siraj stormed their batting – then finding a way to bounce back is going to be tough for them. It was understood from the very beginning that the day would not go well for them. Jasprit Bumrah sent back Kushal Perera in the first over. Sri Lanka did not get any special runs in the next two overs. Mohammed Siraj started showing magic with the new ball in the fourth over of the match.

Pathum Nishanka returns the first ball of Siraj’s over. Ravindra Jadeja delivers the catch. Siraj did not get any wickets in the next ball. The third ball of his killer inswinging hit Sadira Samaravikrama’s pads. He also returned to the dressing room with zero runs. Charith Ashalanka succumbed to Siraj’s pace manipulation in the fourth ball. He also took the way to Sajghar by depositing the ball in the hands of Ishan Kishan who was standing at cover.

Work ‘Miya Magic’

However, Siraj’s dream of a hat-trick was not fulfilled. Fifth ball Dhananjay de Silva pushes lightly towards long on. The ball touching the boundary. The Indian right-hand pacer returned to the game in a fast manner. In the last ball of the over, Siraj’s outswinger Dhananjay de Silver touched the bat and fell into the glove of KL Rahul. The Hyderabadi pacer achieved an incredible feat by taking 4 wickets in one over for 4 runs.
