Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad are still waiting for their first win in IPL 2024. Both teams had to face defeat in the season’s opening match. Mumbai Indians have never won the first match of the season since 2013. However, when the Sunrisers Hyderabad team takes on Mumbai Indians at home on Wednesday, they aim to open a winning record.
The exciting match between Mumbai and Hyderabad (SRH vs MI) is to be played at Rajiv Gandhi Cricket Stadium. The pitch of this ground is considered heaven for batsmen. It rains a lot of fours and sixes on the home ground of Hyderabad and a lot of runs are scored. It is a very difficult task for the bowlers to control the runs on this ground. However, the spinners get some help from the pitch and the spin bowlers are also able to take advantage of the larger boundary.
There is no chance of rain during the match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The sky will be clear and spectators will be able to enjoy the match without any hindrance. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature on the day of the match will be around 35 degrees Celsius. The humidity level in Hyderabad may be around 25 percent. 10 km speed can be passed during the game.
Sunrisers Hyderabad
The Pat Cummins-led team had once raised hopes of victory with Heinrich Klaasen’s brilliant innings in the last match against Kolkata Knight Riders, but the South African batsman did not get enough support from other batsmen. The opening pair of Mayank Agarwal and Abhishek Sharma had given a good start to the team but they will have to bring consistency in their performance. Sunrisers have shown a lot of trust in pinch hitter Abdul Samad and now they will have to live up to the expectations. Bhuvneshwar Kumar had made a good start in bowling but later he was badly beaten by Andre Russell. This experienced fast bowler will be desperate to make a good comeback.
Mumbai Indians
In this match, Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliant bowling, Dewald Brevis’ impressive innings, and Rohit Sharma’s useful contribution at the top of the order were positive aspects for the team. At one time, Mumbai needed 48 runs on 36 days with seven wickets left but they could not achieve it, which would be a matter of concern for the team management. Hardik Pandya, who was captaining Mumbai for the first time, came out to bat at number seven but his strategy did not work.
The Mumbai team is slightly ahead of the opposition in the match between Hyderabad and Mumbai. These two teams have faced each other 21 times in the IPL. Out of this, Mumbai won 12 matches. On the other hand, the Hyderabad team won 9 matches. So before going into this match, it goes without saying that Hardik Pandya’s team is ahead.
