The Sri Lankan team has suffered a big setback in the One Day World Cup 2023. Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka has been ruled out of the ODI World Cup 2023 due to injury. Chamika Karunaratne has been included in the team in place of Dasun Shanaka.
The ICC Technical Committee has given permission to include Chamika Karunaratne in the Sri Lankan team. Chamika Karunaratne has played 23 ODI matches for Sri Lanka.
Dasun Shanaka complained of an injury to the right thigh muscle in a match against Pakistan on October 10. It may take three weeks for him to recover.
