The last match of the ODI cricket series is being played today between India and Sri Lanka. In this match, Sri Lanka, playing first, scored 248 runs in 50 overs, losing 7 wickets. The condition of the Indian team chasing the target is disappointing. Currently, Team India has lost 6 wickets after scoring 96 runs in 15 overs. The Indian team still needs 152 runs in 210 balls to win. If Team India loses this match, it will lose the series 2-0. In this match, Team India’s wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has been trolled on social media.
Why was Rishabh Pant trolled?
Indian team’s wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant has come under the target of fans due to his poor wicketkeeping. Rishabh Pant narrowly missed a very easy chance to stump out Sri Lankan batsman Mahesh Teekshana while trying to hit a style. This incident was seen during the 49th over of Sri Lanka’s innings in the match. Kuldeep Yadav was bowling for Team India in this over. Mahesh Teekshana wanted to play a big shot on the last ball of the over, which Kuldeep had already sensed. Seeing Teekshana coming out of the crease, he threw the ball away from him.
Teekshana had come far out of the crease and Pant got an easy chance to stump him out. But as soon as Rishabh Pant touched the wickets with his gloves, Teekshana’s bat reached the crease. The umpire took the help of the third umpire and it was revealed in the replay that when Pant dropped the bails, Teekshana’s bat rose in the air after hitting the ground.
Because of this, Teekshana was given out by the third umpire. But Pant is now being trolled on social media for being unable to show agility behind the wickets.
