India defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in the first T20 match played at Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on Sunday. With this win, India has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20 series. Bangladesh, batting first, scored 127 runs after losing all wickets in 19.5 overs. In response, India won the match by scoring 132 runs for three wickets in 11.5 overs. Hardik Pandya scored the highest 39 runs for India.
The Indian team, which came out to chase the target of 128 runs, got off to a great start. Abhishek and Sanju Samson shared a 25-run partnership for the first wicket. Abhishek Sharma returned to the pavilion after being run out. Abhishek scored 16 runs in 7 balls. Suryakumar Yadav played a captaincy innings. He scored 29 runs in 14 balls. Sanju Samson scored 29 runs in 19 balls. Mehdi dismissed him. After this, thanks to the 52-run partnership between Nitish and Hardik, India won the match by seven wickets. Hardik contributed 39 runs in 16 balls and Nitish contributed 16 runs in 15 balls.
Bangladesh, who came to bat first, had a very bad start. The team lost the wickets of both the openers within three overs. Arshdeep Singh sent Liton Das (4) and Parvez (8) to the pavilion. Varun Chakraborty dismissed Tauheed. Tauheed was out after scoring 12 runs in 18 balls. Mayank Yadav sent Mahmudullah (1) to the pavilion in his debut match. Varun clean-bowled Jaker Ali. Captain Nazmul Shanto became the victim of Washington after scoring 27 runs in 25 balls. Varun took the third wicket in the match by dismissing Rishad Hussain (11). Taskin was run out, while Hardik clean bowled Shoriful Islam.
