Former Indian Cricket Team fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad has criticized the Asian Cricket Council’s decision to give a reserve day to the Super 4 match between India and Pakistan (IND vs PAK). The grand match between the two teams will be played on 10 September. If the match is stopped due to rain on this day, it will be started from there the next day.
The opening encounter between India and Pakistan was abandoned due to rain before Pakistan defeated Nepal to win its first match of the Super Four stage. The Indian cricket team defeated the Nepal team to make it to the Super 4 of the tournament.
Due to bad weather in Colombo, the Asian Cricket Council has decided to keep a reserve day for the Super Four match between India and Pakistan. But many cricket legends are angry with this decision of ACC and are issuing various statements.
Prasad has termed the reserve day for the India vs Pakistan match as wrong and said that it would be unethical if the rules were different only for two teams.
Venkatesh Prasad wrote on Twitter, “If this is true then it is completely shameless. The organizers have scoffed and considered it unethical to hold a tournament with different rules for the other two teams. In the name of justice, it would only be fair if it was abandoned on the very first day.” “There may be more rain the next day and these malicious plans will not succeed.”
