According to a top official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), this is the last assignment of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in T20 International. After this, both these legends will not be made a part of Team India’s plans related to T20 cricket. Simply put, Virat and Rohit have been given hints of retiring from this format after the T20 World Cup 2024. However, when do both of them announce it? They will decide it themselves.
Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli returned to Team India after a long time for the home T20 series against Afghanistan in January this year. Earlier, both of them last played a T20 International match against England in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022, in which India had to face defeat.
Virat and Rohit’s T20 career has been very good. Hitman has scored 3974 runs in 151 T20 International matches played so far at an average of 31.29 and a strike rate of 139.98. At the same time, Kohli has scored 4037 runs in 117 matches at an average of 51.76 and a strike rate of 138.16.
