Virat Kohli to Miss First Two Tests Against England Due to Personal Reasons

Indian Former Captain And Batsman Virat Kohli withdrew from the first two tests citing personal reasons. On Monday 22nd January BCCI releases a media update that. Secretary Jay Shah Said that Virat Kohli Will Miss The First two tests against England.

After winning the T20 series against Afghanistan, the Indian team is going to take on the test field against England from the 25th at home (IND vs ENG). India will face Ben Stokes in the five-match series. There is a lot of excitement surrounding the clash between the two heavyweight teams. England camp reached India yesterday, ie Sunday. They have entered India with a bunch of spinners in the squad. To adapt to the whirlwind pitch, the preparation camp is in the United Arab Emirates.

The first Test match is scheduled to be held in Hyderabad, the second in Visakhapatnam. Then the third match is in Rajkot. Ranchi has been selected for the fourth match. The last game will be at Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh.

The first Test at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad starts on the 25th. Will continue till 29 January. Team India wants to advance in the series by defeating the opponent in the first match. A win is also essential for Team India in terms of the World Test Championship points tally. The team has already started practice. It was certain that Mohammed Shami would not be available due to an ankle injury. Mohammed Shami was not included in the squad announced by the selectors for the first two Tests.

Virat Kohli’s name was also added to the list of absences just before the start of the Test. India will have to play at least the first two Tests without one of the mainstays of Indian batting, the BCCI announced today.

“Mr. Virat Kohli has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to be withdrawn from the first two Tests of the upcoming IDFC First Bank Test series against England, citing personal reasons.

Virat has spoken to Captain Rohit Sharma, the team management, and the selectors and has emphasized that while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention.

The BCCI respects his decision and the Board and team management has extended its support to the star batter and is confident in the abilities of the remaining squad members to step up and deliver commendable performances in the Test series.

The BCCI requests the media and fans to respect Virat Kohli’s privacy during this time and refrain from speculating on the nature of his reasons. The focus should remain on supporting the Indian cricket team as they embark on the upcoming challenges in the Test series. The Men’s Selection Committee will name a replacement soon.”
