Gautam Gambhir and Sreesanth witnessed a heated argument during the Eliminator of Legends League Cricket 2023 at the Lalabhai Contractor Stadium in Surat on Wednesday, 6 December. Before the argument turned into a fight, fellow players and the umpire had to intervene. Its video is also going viral on social media and former Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth has also accused Gautam Gambhir regarding this.
The incident happened when India Capitals decided to bat first against Gujarat Giants. While Gambhir was batting, he got into a heated argument with Sreesanth following which the umpires had to intervene to restore peace. After the end of the game, which the Capitals won by 12 runs, Sreesanth criticized Gambhir for provoking him without any reason. Hitting out at him for not respecting his teammates, Sreesanth said he was deeply hurt by what Gambhir said.
Emotions are always running high, when you were very passionate about your game.

Sreesanth said, “I just wanted to clarify something about what happened with Mr. Fighter, who always fights with all his colleagues without any reason. He also doesn’t respect his senior players, including Viru Bhai and many others. The same thing happened today. Without any provocation, he kept calling me, something which was very rude and something which Mr. Gautam Gambhir should not have said.”
He said, ‘So, I just want to let you all know that it is not my fault. I just wanted to clear everything up. Sooner or later you will find out what Gauti has done. Sreesanth said after the match, ‘The words he used and the things he said live on the cricket field are not acceptable. He said things that he shouldn’t have said and I just want you all to know that I will tell you all about what he said. What’s the point of representing the people if you don’t respect colleagues?

Sreesanth finally said, “Even live, when he is asked about Virat (Kohli), he never talks about him and says something else. I don’t want to go into further detail. Just want to say that I am deeply hurt, my family is hurt and my loved ones are hurt. I never abused him, but he kept saying something, which he always does.”
