The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is going to start on February 19. On February 20, India will play its first match against Bangladesh and the biggest rivalry of the season i.e. India-Pakistan match will be played on February 23.
Ahead of this match, Netflix is going to release a cricket documentary series “The Greatest Rivalry – India vs Pakistan”. It will premiere on February 7. A week before the release, the over-the-top (OTT) platform has shared a glimpse of what is in the box on social media. In this video, a clip of former Team India captain Sourav Ganguly is going viral on social media. On which former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has reacted.

In this video going viral on social media, former India captain Sourav Ganguly, while remembering the 1996 Friendship Cup, said, “It was a Friendship Cup only in name, but when Shoaib Akhtar used to bowl at a speed of 150 kilometers per hour, where does friendship remain in it?”

Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar shared this byte of Sourav Ganguly in this video on his X account and wrote in the caption “Dada @SGanguly99 you are amazing. Indian cricket is incomplete without you.” The documentary aims to explore the “drama, passion, and high-stakes intensity of this rivalry on the home soil of both countries”. Netflix said in a press release that it is directed by Chandradev Bhagat and Stewart Sugg.

“The Greatest Rivalry” documentary tries to show some unseen and unheard stories of the way the ODI series was played between India and Pakistan earlier. Along with this, interviews with Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, Sunil Gavaskar, Waqar Younis, Javed Miandad, Ravichandran Ashwin, Inzamam ul Haq, and Shoaib Akhtar will also be shown, who will recall their experiences and reveal secrets.

Greatest Rivalry Due to increasing political tension between India and Pakistan, no bilateral matches have been played since the 2012-13 series. Due to this, the excitement of the India-Pak match increases a lot. Now these two teams play against each other only in ICC tournaments or tournaments like the Asia Cup and the craze for these games among the fans is of a different level. The India-Pakistan match in the Champions Trophy will be played from February 23.
