UP Warriors star all-rounder Deepti Sharma created history by taking a hat-trick in the group match against Delhi Capitals. Deepti has become the first Indian player to take a hat-trick in the Women’s Premier League. Deepti played a key role in UP Warriors’ one-run win over Capitals by taking three consecutive wickets in two overs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday.

Batting first, the UP Warriors scored 138 runs. In this, Deepti Sharma played an inning of 59 runs in 48 balls. Deepti’s brilliant performance did not stop there. While defending the target, Deepti bowled two amazing overs. Delhi had made the match exciting by taking three important wickets in these two overs.

Chasing the target, they scored 91 runs by losing only 2 wickets in 13 overs. Deepti Sharma came to take the 14th over for the team and in this over, she gave only two runs and dismissed Meg Lanning on the sixth ball of the over. UP captain Alyssa Healy again handed the ball to Deepti Sharma in the 19th over. Deepti created history in this over.

He took the second hat-trick in WPL history by dismissing Sutherland and Arundhati Reddy on the first two balls of his over. Achieved fourth success by dismissing Shikha Pandey on the fourth ball. Earlier in the last season, Issie Wong had taken a hat-trick while playing for Mumbai Indians. He took a hat-trick against UP Warriors only.
