228 kg Gold Missing from Kedarnath as Shankaracharya Makes Serious Allegations

A controversy has arisen over laying the foundation stone of the Kedarnath temple in Delhi. Jyotirmath Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand strongly opposed the construction of the Kedarnath temple in the capital. He has also alleged a scam in the work of applying gold plating inside the sanctum sanctorum of Kedarnath temple. Shankaracharya said that 228 kg of gold is missing from the Kedarnath temple. who will answer this?

Serious allegations by Shankaracharya

Swami Avimukteshwarananda said, “There has been a gold scam in Kedarnath, why was that issue not raised? After committing a scam there, will Kedarnath be built in Delhi now? And then there will be another scam.”

Brass was used in place of gold

Last year, a senior priest of Kedarnath temple had alleged a scam of up to Rs 125 crore in the work of gold plating in Kedarnath temple. He claimed that brass plating was done in place of gold, although the temple committee rejected this allegation.

Shankaracharya said, “228 kg gold is missing from Kedarnath… No investigation has been started. Who is responsible for this? Now they are saying that they will build Kedarnath in Delhi, this cannot happen.”

Kedarnath temple in Delhi

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday participated in the Bhoomi Pujan (sacred ceremony) in the Hiranki area near Burari in northwest Delhi and laid the foundation stone of the new Kedarnath temple. On Sunday, priests protested at the Kedarnath temple in Rudraprayag district. They assembled along with various other associations under the banner of Kedar Sabha and raised slogans against the Uttarakhand state government and the chief minister.

The religious sanctity of Kedarnath will be reduced.

Kedar Sabha spokesperson Pankaj Shukla clarified his stand and said, “We are not against the construction of the temple, but are opposing the construction of the Kedarnath temple by a religious trust in Delhi, as claimed. If even a single stone is moved from the Kedarnath Dham area, the religious sanctity of Kedarnath Dham will be reduced.”
