23-Year-Old Man Dies when O+ Blood TRANSFUSED instead of AB+ in Jaipur Hospital!

A life got lost, just because of the negligence at the state’s largest Sawai Mansingh Hospital. The person who died, is named Sachin Sharma, he was only 23 years old. Sachin died due to an erroneous blood transfusion in the hospital of Jaipur. The Congress slammed the Bhajan Lal Sharma-led BJP government in Rajasthan after this incident.

Sachin was hospitalized in the trauma ward on February 12th because of a road accident. But, Instead of receiving O-positive blood, the patient was given AB-positive blood. This damaged both of his kidneys. But the hospital administration attempted to keep this incident a secret . The investigations has revealed that the sample and slip that were provided to the family members to procure blood for the Trauma Center belonged to another patient. When the family members presented the slip at the Trauma Blood Bank, the staff provided AB positive blood, when Sachin’s blood group was O positive.

After a blood transfusion and operation in trauma ward, Sachin was shifted to the plastic surgery department. There the patient again needed blood, the doctors again prepared a prescription and gave it. When the patient’s relatives arrived with blood, they gave blood and said that the blood group was O positive and it was also given to the young man. Later the investigation has  revealed that the blood report and complete information which were received from the trauma centre were not even written on Sachin’s file! After taking blood from the Trauma Blood Bank, its complete details have to be entered in the patient’s file. Everything from the blood group to the tag on the blood bag has to be cross-checked again and again. But investigation has revealed that no such details were written on Sachin’s file.

Congress leader Tikaram Jully has claimed that the BJP government is failing on all fronts, and Jully has demanded action against the culprits responsible for the young man’s death. “The Bhajanlal government of the state seems to be failing on every front. From the poor condition of law and order to the condition of the health department in the state remains worrying!,” Jully wrote on X.
