Three suspected men had boarded with total eight bags in the train in Egmore. The police and flying squad who were on duty in Tambaram hurried to the Tambaram railway station at around 9 pm on Saturday. Then the police and flying squad detained those three passengers from Tambaram railway station from the Nellai Express train with over ₹4 crore cash in Chennai on Saturday night.
BJP candidate has a connection with the ₹4 crore cash !
The accused men were identified as S Sathish who is 33 and from Agaram, his brother S Navin who’s age is 31 and S Perumal who is 26 and of Thoothukudi. After searching the second-class AC coach with A1, the police discovered that the eight bags that they were carrying were totally filled with cash money. All of those cashes sumed upto ₹4 crore, all the notes were of ₹500, the report said. It is being said that Tirunelveli BJP candidate Nainar Nagendran has a direct connection with this.
The police also initiated search operations in Kilpauk, Triplican, and Saligramam, and places linked to Tirunelveli BJP candidate, Nainar Nagendran. The report also claimed that the passengers had kept the cash in such places that are linked to the BJP leader before the police took it to Egmore railway station. Investigation is still going on about the case to ascertain if those three passengers carried the cash to distribute in Tirunelveli Lok Sabha constituency ahead of Lok Sabha elections scheduled in seven phases beginning on April 19.
Sources from the income tax department has stated that they will be questioned on Sunday or Monday. The I-T teams have been deployed in other districts right now. Although, based on the arrested passengers’ confession, police teams conducted searches in Kilpauk, Triplicane and Saligramam.
