Hey fam, got some piping hot tea for y’all! Delhi’s CM Arvind Kejriwal has just been sent to the slammer for 14 days! Yup, you read that right. Our fave CM is in judicial custody ’cause of the ongoing Delhi liquor policy drama being dug up by the CBI. Kejriwal’s three-day CBI custody just wrapped up and the special judge, Sunena Sharma, decided to keep him locked up for another 14 days. Sounds intense, right?
The CBI is throwing major shade, saying Kejriwal was super uncooperative and gave some pretty dodgy answers. They grilled him about why the profit margin for liquor wholesalers jumped from 5% to 12% without any solid reason during the new excise policy of 2021-22. And get this – they wanna know why this policy got rushed through during the peak of COVID’s second wave. The plot thickens! The CBI claims Kejriwal couldn’t spill the tea on his buddy Vijay Nair’s meetings with liquor biz peeps and his own meet-ups with Magunta Sreenivasulu Reddy and other accused. Kejriwal’s got some serious explaining to do, but the CBI thinks he might mess with witnesses and evidence if he’s out and about.
ICYMI, Kejriwal got nabbed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) back in March for alleged money laundering while crafting the 2021-22 liquor policy. They say the cash he got from liquor sellers bankrolled the AAP’s Goa campaign. But Kejriwal and the AAP are calling BS, saying the Centre’s just using its power to bully the Opposition with fake cases. What do you think? Is Kejriwal being framed or is there more to this story? Drop your thoughts below! Stay tuned for more deets!
