A woman was killed in the blast in Kerala during a prayer meeting on Sunday. According to reports, over 2,500 people attended the three-day convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses at Zamra International Convention & Exhibition Centre in Kalamassery, Kerala. At least three blasts were reported within minutes after the prayer meeting started. People, who were present at the convention centre told the media that the first blast occurred in the middle of a prayer. A woman was killed in the blast during the prayer meeting on Sunday.
Now, Delhi and Mumbai were put on high alert on October 29, following multiple explosions that killed at least one person and left 36 others injured at the prayer meeting in Kerala earlier in the day. The Security arrangements have been tightened at churches across Delhi, and a “special vigil” was being kept in crowded places, the police said, “Delhi Police is on high alert after the blast in the convention centre, in Kalamassery, Kerala and Special vigil is being kept in crowded places,”
The Mumbai Police has also issued a high alert for this explosion in Kerala, as well as the upcoming festive season and cricket matches, as per reports. Security has also been increased around Chabad House, a Jewish centre in the city, the police reportedly said.
It is reported that the prayer meeting, which took place at a convention centre at Kalamassery was underway was devastated by multiple blasts. Although police are yet to confirm this. 36 people were injured in the blast, others sustained injuries while fleeing from the meeting hall. Seven people including a child are admitted to ICU. Nine people who are in critical condition have been shifted to Sunrise Hospital at Kakkanad. Burn surgeons from Kottayam Government Medical College will reach Kalamassery Medical College to provide expert medical care to the injured.
