Is snake venom a Drug?!

According to officials in the Narcotics Control Bureau, most of the snake venom that is used in rave parties is cobra venom. Cobras are easily found and smugglers mostly get their supply from them. A powder is made from the venom and it is then consumed by mixing it with drinks. The price of snakebite powder can range anywhere between Rs 20,000-25,000. Narcotics has estimated that half a liter of snake venom is sold for at least lakhs of rupees in the international market! After consuming, snake venom’s effect can last from hours to days depending on the strength and quantity of the drug taken.
