Maharashtra Cyber Cell has registered an FIR in a case related to fake news. This FIR has not been filed directly against Dhruv Rathee but in connection with the parody account (fake or fan account) running in his name. This action has been taken in the case of spreading wrong information regarding the daughter of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
According to the Maharashtra Cyber Department, an account with the handle @dhruvrahtee claimed on social media X that Om Birla’s daughter had passed the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination without taking the exam. The account’s X bio reads, “This is a fan and parody account and is not affiliated with the original account of @dhruv_rathee. No one is being copied. This account is a parody.”
Let us tell you that in this case, the police have registered a case under the sections of Defamation, International insult, disturbing peace, and IT of the Indian Justice Code. As soon as this case was registered, Dhruv Rathee was once again in the news. There is movement on social media also.
