The YouTube channel named ‘Capital TV’ has claimed that Raghav Chadda supports Khalistanies. The channel also compared Raghav Chadda with Vijay Mallya. Punjab Police has filed an FIR against the YouTube channel and arrested the creator for comparing AAP’s leader Raghav Chadha with Vijay Mallya. The Punjab Police have claimed, the channel has been spreading misleading news and disturbing the peace on Delhi liquor scam and election tickets.
The FIR has been registered at the Shimlapuri police station in Ludhiana against the YouTuber who’s channel is named Capital TV. The complaint against the channel was filed by Vikas Parashar, who is the son of an AAP candidate from Ludhiana Lok Sabha seat, Ashok Pappi Parashar. The complainant in the FIR has says that the channel compared AAP Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha with the businessman Vijay Mallya who fled with the nation’s money and claimed that AAP had sold election tickets. The YouTube channel made claims, “Vijay Mallya fled to the UK after taking public money, and similarly, a Rajya Sabha member left for England, claiming it was for eye treatment.”
The FIR flames serious accusations of defamatory and spreading “misleading content” on the channel. “The statements/contents of false videos on Capital TV channel and others shall harm the public peace and harmony…and is likely to promote enmity between different groups in the country on grounds of religion, caste, race and community..,” stated the complaint. The FIR has been registered under Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), for promoting enmity between different groups on the basis of religion, Section 469 for forgery, and Section 505 for making statements to cause public mischief.
