Wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined Congress on Friday, September 6, 30 days before the Haryana Assembly elections. It is considered certain that Vinesh will contest elections from Julana seat. At the same time, there is speculation about Bajrang also contesting the elections.

Vinesh has said, “In bad times, you know who is with you. First of all, I want to thank the countrymen and the media. Bajrang Punia shared his thoughts to the press saying,“Congress party stood with us. Today it is being said that our aim was only to do politics. We had sent them (BJP) a letter. The Congress Party stood with us during the atrocities that happened to our daughters. We will work equally hard here as we worked hard in wrestling, farmers movement and our movement.
