Alia Bhatt portrayed the character of Madhu aka “Gangubai” in the Hindi-language biographical crime drama film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and produced by Bhansali and Jayantilal Gada, “Gangubai Kathiawadi“. The film is about Gangubai Kothewali, whose life was documented in the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai written by S. Hussain Zaidi. This film depicts the story of a young girl, Born into an affluent family in Kathiawad, Ganga Jagjivandas Kathiawadi, a daughter of a barrister, who aspired to become a Bollywood actress and how she eloped from home and became the Kamathipura’s Don.
