Famous tabla player and music composer Zakir Hussain has passed away. 73-year-old Zakir Hussain was undergoing treatment at a hospital in San Francisco and today after his health suddenly deteriorated, he was admitted to the ICU, where he breathed his last. According to the information received, Ustad Zakir Hussain had heart disease.
Born on 9 March 1951, Zakir Hussain has won three Grammy Awards. He has also been awarded the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Vibhushan. Zakir Hussain was an actor and tabla player. He made his acting debut with the 1983 British film Heat and Dust. He also worked in the 1998 film Saaz. In his career, he worked in about 12 films.
