A complaint has been filed against producer Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor under the POCSO Act. This matter is related to her web series “Gandi Baat”.
While Ekta Kapoor is famous for making dramas with cultured daughters-in-law on the small screen, she is also in the news for bold web series on OTT platforms. Along with mother Shobha Kapoor, she runs the OTT platform Alt Balaji, where she has produced many bold series. Now there is an uproar regarding Gandi Baat Season 6.
Case registered under POCSO Act
According to Mumbai Police, a case has been registered against Balaji Telefilms Limited owner Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor at the MHB police station in Mumbai under Section 295-A, IT Act and Sections 13 and 15 of the POCSO Act. This complaint has been made for some objectionable scenes of Gandii Baat season released in the year 2021.
What is the matter?
The complainant alleges that in an episode of Gandii Baat Season 6 produced by Ekta and Shobha, obscene scenes of minor girls have been shown. At present, this controversial episode is not streaming on the OTT platform. A case has been registered against both of them. However, till now no statement has come from Ekta Kapoor or Shobha Kapoor addressing the matter.
