It is decided by health ministry officials and the officials has told news reporters on wednesday. All of these started from February 2, when Poonam Pandey’s team created a death stunt and according to them, by doing this they were creating “critical awareness” about cervical cancer!
In the budget speech, the Union Minister had announced the government’s intention to promote vaccination for the prevention of cervical cancer among girls . This will be given to the girls who fall in the age group between 9 and 14. The Ministry of Health has been maintaining a constant close observation with the incidence of cervical cancer. Many necessary collaborations have also been taken with states and health departments. Poonam Pandey’s stunt came just a day after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman opened up about this matter.
In a video, Pandey said, “I feel compelled to share something significant with you all. I am here, alive. Cervical cancer didn’t claim me, but tragically, it has claimed the lives of thousands of women who stemmed from a lack of knowledge on how to tackle this disease.” Later, the company named Schbang, revealed that this entire campaign was a not-for-profit campaign which was undertaken entirely to spread awareness against the cervical Cancer. They claimed that they created at least a 1000 headlines on the subject of cervical cancer.
Earlier, it was being reported in many places that Poonam Pandey was going to be the face of the campaign. They also said that she and her team were in talks with ministry officials. But the health ministry officials confirmed that she’ll not become the face of the campaign!
