Recently zomato has temporarily suspended to deliver non-vegetarian items in several states of North India. According to the reports it was done because of government notice. Online food delivery app , Zomato users from various cities have noticed the absence of non-veg food options on the platform from several days. But no one know about the real cause behind this sudden change of Zomato. It came to light when a customer of this app has complained on social media about the unavailability of chicken in Bhopal. The castomer wrote, “Zomato is not delivering chicken in Bhopal today lmao”! Another user wrote, “It could be because the supply of meat not being available today v/s anything decision by Zomato.”
Then, Zomato has responded to that user concern on social media, and they clarified that the suspension was a result of the government’s notice.“We have disabled the delivery of non-veg items in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan as per govt. notice. Hope this clarification helps,” stated Zomato’s customer care support.

Varun Khera, who is the leader of the National Restaurant Association of India in Uttar Pradesh, has now confirmed that restaurants nationwide had jointly agreed toon this decision . They are exclusively offering only vegetarian dishes on January 22. Mr. Khera has explained the importance of the government’s notice, particularly in light of the significant event that took place in Ayodhya. This decision has been taken for several states, including Uttar Pradesh, to prohibit the sale of meat and fish on January 22.
