What is hMPV virus: symptoms and preventive methods

 

After 5 years of Covid-19, a new virus infection is once again spreading in China. Its symptoms are also like Corona virus. The name of this new virus is Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV), which is an RNA virus.

Chinese media China Daily reports about the outbreak of the HMPV virus. The Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention has reported new cases of Human Metapneumovirus Infection across the country. After this, the flu virus detection rate has also been increased.

Symptoms of hMPV

There are 4 main symptoms of hMPV virus and they are like ordinary flu. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, this disease shows mild symptoms. Its symptoms include cough, fever, nasal congestion and wheezing in the throat.But there is a fear among the people that it might change its form and become deadly like Corona. Therefore, there is no problem in taking precautions from now on.

Preventive methods

• Wash hands with soap and water for atleast 20 seconds to control the spread.
• Cover your mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing.
• Consider wearing a mask and avoid contact with those who are sick.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Practice self-isolation if you are sick.
