Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is on his way to Rajkot, to rejoin the team for the upcoming test match. Aswin had to leave on the same day he made history as a spinner for a family medical emergency.
On day 2 of the India vs England match, Aswin completed his 500 wickets in Test cricket after dismissing England’s Zack Crowley. Ashwin achieved this big achievement in the 98th Test match of his career. The whole nation started celebrating this huge moment but then news of his leaving the team was announced. It was shockingly sad for the whole nation. Ashwin immediately left due to a family emergency. The sort of emergency is still not revealed. But the spinner has requested privacy in this part.
” 500 wickets done and dusted now, and we’ve got a game hanging in the balance”- Ashwin to the press
With the wild spirit, our star spinner had said that he was done reaching a milestone, and now he will reach higher, and his focus is on the next match. But things changed fast on the same day. Now, things are again back on track as the spinner is on his way to the field again. The whole nation is looking forward to the next match. The England team, who was probably relieved by far, is again under pressure. Both Aswin and the BCCI have confirmed his being back in the game.
The official statement was released by the BCCI this morning confirming his comeback,
“The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is pleased to announce the return of R Ashwin to the squad after a brief absence due to a family emergency. Ashwin had to temporarily withdraw from the squad after Day 2 of the 3rd Test in Rajkot to attend to a family emergency.
Both R Ashwin and the team management are pleased to confirm that he will be back in action on Day 4 and will continue to contribute towards the team’s cause in the ongoing Test match…”
