Sports Ministry has suspended the Wrestling Federation of India on Sunday. Wrestling Federation of India, Brij Bhushan Singh, has been accused of sexual harassment. Because of this, The Union Sports Ministry has suspended the Wrestling Federation of India body which is under the leadership of new President Sanjay Singh.

The announcement took place after the newly-elected lead announced organizing the U-15 and U-20 nationals “without following due procedure and not giving sufficient notice to wrestlers” for preparations. The party also has opened up about this. They have said that the BJP can’t absolve itself from the accusations of not helping women wrestlers.
“Whatever has to be done with regards to wrestling, it will be done by a new body. I have nothing to do with it,” Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh told the reporters, after a meeting. former WFI chief and sexual harassment accused Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh also said, “The elections were held democratically on the direction of the Supreme Court and the body was formed. Now it’s their (federation members) decision if they wish to talk to the govt or take the legal course of action. I have nothing to do with this.”

Meanwhile, the ace wrestler, Sakshee Malikkh has expressed her deep concern about the organization of wrestling camps at the same locations in Lucknow and Nanni Nagar. “I have not seen anything in writing yet. I don’t know whether only Sanjay Singh has been suspended or the entire body has been suspended. Our fight was not with the government. Our fight is for women wrestlers, I have announced my retirement but want the upcoming wrestlers should get justice.” she said to the reporters.
